So just so you all know, it might be a while before I get any new crocheting stuff up here. This past week or so my right shoulder’s been acting up and me and my dad think it might be because I’m crocheting too much. I’d always get a little sore after I crochet but this time I’m a little more cautious because on days where I don’t crochet at all it might still be sore (like today).
The only reason that I’m taking this seriously instead of pushing through it and waiting until my arm adjusts is because when I was in sixth grade doctors went in and had to take a biopsy of my right collarbone because it seemed to be growing and they wanted to make sure it wasn’t bone cancer. Thank goodness it wasn’t. All it was was chronic recurrent multifocal osteomyelitis. Basically that’s a fancy way to say that my bone got infected and grew, that it’s a condition that will be with me my entire life, that it can happen again, and can happen all over my body. Since then I haven’t had any problems with it and I don’t even remember what the pain felt like back in sixth grade. But I don’t want to take any chances. They think thought that it was first caused because I got tendinitis in my shoulder from Irish dancing, where you have to do that silly arms-behind-the-back thing.
Basically, I’m taking a break from crocheting until at least next week. I think that I can still knit/sew though so this might just be a time to revisit those techniques. Expect many knitted and felt creatures to come!
